The New Suunto X9i
With 3 big improvements over the old Suunto X9...
The internals have also been
improved as has the aerial so the X9i picks up more signals from satellites
and holds its satellite signal in places where the old X9 would drop signal
(built up areas and steep valleys).
Suunto X9i, the World's Smallest Outdoor Wristop Computer with GPS
Utilizing digital mapping software, users are not only able to plan their routes on a digital map, but can also print their own customized maps and download routes from the software directly onto the Suunto X9i. In this way, route planning and waypoint programming is fast, accurate and simple.
When navigating on a pre-planned route, the Suunto X9i shows the direction and remaining distance to the next waypoint and calculates the estimated time of arrival. During activities, the Suunto X9i shows the current speed and distance
travelled using GPS functions. The 'Find home' setting guides the way back to the start point or marked 'Home' position whilst the 'Track back' function guides the user back along any recorded route.
The Suunto X9i is the world's smallest and lightest wrist-mounted GPS unit. In addition, it incorporates an altimeter, barometer, digital compass, thermometer, and an extensive memory, as well as the usual time/stopwatch functions. Combining all of these functions into a sleek, sporty wristop computer not only enhances safety, but also adds a whole new dimension to the outdoor experience.
Suunto is the leading manufacturer of sports instruments for a variety of sports, including training, golf, skiing, hiking, diving and sailing. The company's focus is on sports activities where advanced measurement technology and data processing can generate significant performance benefits for active people.
100% compatible with Memory Map
On full charge the GPS will function for 12 hours constantly, the GPS can be set to check position every
"X" minutes - on a sample rate of every 10 minutes the battery will last for a week.
An accessory will soon be available for the docking station to take a 9 volt battery, so if you should
run out of charge in an area without power you can charge it from the docking station.
