Ok I admit, I've long been a fan of Ortlieb panniers & the Ortlieb Mud Racer saddle bag is no exception. I've had it attached to my winter bike since November, and through this very wet winter its proved its worth. (I think the pictures say enough about the conditions & if the last ride hadn't been such a wet day it wouldn't have been as clean)
Its such a simple idea I'm amazed it not been done before... put a flap over the zip to stop the zip getting clogged and to keep the contents of the mud racer clean and dry.
Its not just this flap that makes the Ortlieb mud racer my choice and recommendation for a small saddle pack / bag. It's the simple quick release mounting mechanism, the protective & rigid case, the large easy zip opening. Ive tried & tested this one & used it for everything, inner tubes, cool tool, mobile phone, I even trusted it with my digital camera.
Spare Ortlieb saddle bag mountings are also available so you can swap the mud racer between bikes.
